The fine ? Upto £1000 and 6 points on your license. A loophole has now been closed meaning you can’t claim to be taking a photo, or bizzarely playing a game!
If you are using your mobile as a Sat-Nav, it must be in a cradle. The only exception to the new rules are if you are using it as a contactless device at say a restaurant drive-thru.
